LIfe is Hard

I wasn't able to post yesterday because I didn't feel well. Amy and Jared didn't feel well either (they were worse off than me). This morning I woke up after a restless night and went to work. The first part of the day was spent trying to fix the office ice machine, which I know nothing about. We had a meeting with the building official and the town administrator (or maybe he was an alderman). No time for lunch because there were four inspections to be made in an hour and a half. Then I got a call from a guy that I installed central heat and air for in one of his rental houses. It wasn't cooling and needed freon. I said ok and that I'll do it after work. Less than a minute after that, a friend of mine called and one of his rental houses weren't cooling. On top of all this a big storm was brewing for tonight. Talk about a hard day! I finally got finished about 6:30, which wasn't too bad. So here I sit, sweating because my a/c isn't working at the moment and I still haven't had time to eat anything. I'll probably cook dinner since wifey is still not feeling good, then put the kids to bed. With my luck I won't be able to sleep after all that!

Sometimes we think we have it hard. Is life sometimes difficult? You better believe it! How do we deal with it and keep going. Obviously we 'keep our eyes on the goal', but is there something else? Yes, the Bible says that we are to "endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ." How does a soldier endure hardness? By training for the upcoming battle. If we allow the Lord to train us we will be equipped for the battle. We do this by studying, not just reading, the Bible; Praying daily and with a clean heart; Telling others how to be saved; Fellowshipping with other believers; Keeping ourselves unspotted from the world (this may mean giving up some things and adding other things to our lives).

Training is not easy. I have heard alot of soldiers talk about how hard boot camp was, but it prepared them for the danger that was ahead. Let's trust that God knows what we need and follow His boot camp. Then we will be able to live a victorious Christian life!

CK,
Sounds like a pretty big pity party, eh? I'm sure Paul didn't complain about a little hard day at work and being a bit sleepy! That is big because Paul is the one that told us to 'endure hardness', and is one of the best examples of it.
