The Weekend

The College and Career class of Easthill Baptist had a great activity this Saturday. We had a 'bigger and better' activity where we started off with a ball point pen. The class went to a neighborhood and knocked on doors offering to trade the pen for anything bigger or better. Our final tally was a mountain bike, a self-propelled lawnmower, 2 vcr's, a scanner, a printer, a bread maker, and various odds and ends. These items will be sold to pay for our upcoming white water rafting trip to the Ocoee River in July. Everyone had a great time and went out to eat afterwards. Amy and I are also members of the Encourages Couples class and got to go straight from the first activity to the couples activity. It was a clue scavenger hunt and I thought it would be easy. We came in last place but it was fun. A great dinner followed at the church, with games and a devotional from Bro. Wil. It was a great time. Church was awesome! Sunday School went very well and the sermon by Bro. Eddie was very timely. One man got saved Sunday morning. His name was Tony and he had never been to Easthill before. He was driving by the church and pulled onto the lot, circling the church before deciding to go in. Tony just felt that the Lord would have him go to church today and during the invitation he came forward to accept Jesus Christ as his saviour. After the evening service we got to fellowship with Bro. Wil and his wife for a while before going home. I would rather do things for the Lord with His people than any other thing this old world has to offer. God's loving kindness and tender mercies are truly better than life! Have a great week and keep serving the Master.
