The day of rest is over, now its back to work. Amy is not happy about that since I had a week off and we really enjoy spending time together. Today was a great day. We had a good time in Sunday School, learning about Paul and how he dealt with the Thessalonian Church. Bro. Earnest Gambrell from FBWWM preached the morning service from Hebrews chapter 11. We had a good Training Hour class about the 'Romans Road' as well as a fun 'banana' game. Bro. Eddie Champion preached the evening service about Mary of Bethany sitting at the feet of Jesus.
Have you ever heard someone that is not saved try to explain the Bible? Isn't it funny how they will take passages out of context or try to focus on certain 'controversial' passages? Some will say that Jesus wants us to help the poor and that is why He came. Is this true? Did Jesus care about the poor? Others will say that Jesus wants us to live a life of love and it doesn't matter how we believe. Most will try to sell the idea that all mankind is in the image of God and it is up to us to cultivate the good in people. How do these things add up when compared to the Bible. Not too well. I have found that the biggest problem with unbelievers is the total inability to rightly divide the word of truth. Why can't they? Simple: 1Co 2:14 "But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." The only thing a lost person can understand is the plan of salvation according to the light given them by the Holy Ghost. Outside of divine illumination about the nature of man and the need of salvation, an unregenerate person can't understand anything spiritual in the Bible.
There are people on TV that will wear the name 'Christian' and spout off that there are many different ways to God, which is utter foolishness. Where do they get their information? From the Bible? No, mostly from their 'beliefs'. "I believe..." That supposedly holds some kind of weight or authority? These same people will open the door for their 'pet' religions, or their 'accepted' religious beliefs, but never consider that most 'religions' contradict each other. Where is their final authority? It doesn't exist. What a sad life and an even sadder existence in the after life. Heaven or Hell is decided here and now. Jesus is the ONLY way to heaven as He is the door. Anyone trying to come any other way is a thief and a robber. At least according to MY final authority--the Bible.
