Trusting God

Sometimes I wonder how I could have lived so long not trusting in the Lord. I am not talking about salvation, but in everyday life. When the Holy Spirit convicted me of my sin and I received Jesus Christ as my Saviour, I thought it would be smooth sailing the rest of the way. That is, unfortunately, not always the case. Sure it is great to be saved and KNOW IT, but to rely on God instead of myself is sometimes easier said than done. We all tend to be somewhat self sufficient, which is not a bad thing unless you leave God out of the equation. When God called Abraham out of the land of Ur, He told him to go...didn't say where, how to get there, what to do when he arrived, or anything in between. Abraham had to make a decision...go or don't go. He decided to trust God and rely on the One that knows the beginning from the end. Not a bad idea for the rest of us, eh? 1Pe 5:6-7 "Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you."
The recipe for a fulfilled life is to humbly trust and serve the Lord Jesus Christ. Not many people will be able to relate to this kind of life. It is pretty rare today, but was the norm in Christian Churches of the past. Just remember that it doesn't matter what others think about you, but it does matter what God knows about you!
